I Want to Soak up the Sun

Last weekend, the band was part of a country music festival put on by the NH country music station WOKQ and Prescott Park Arts Festival. During the day I couldn't help but sing the choruses of Sheryl Crows 'I want to soak up the sun' and Jodie Mesina's 'Bring on the Rain' to myself.

The day started off beautifully. Shortly after Branded (dan's band) was done, the dark black cloudes started rolling in fast. By the time the 4th band was setting up, the thunder started freaking me out enough to pack it up. I started regretting bringing as much gear as I did as it was about 1/2 mile back to the car with 2 kids [and a husband that had disappeared due to band obligations] in a potential downpour.

Fortunately, no Morgans were soaked during the course of the day, we all made it to the car saftely & mostly dry before the skies really opened up.

I had packed my camera up at the first sign of darkness [should've bought that damage protection waiver after all] but I was able to get these pics early on

and this is how we roll...

Look out world, Audrey is now rolling over.

Happy 3 month birthday baby girl.

It's hard to imagine a day in our life with out her in it. It seems foreign to think it was ever just me & Dan or just me, Dan and Nathaniel.

I'd predict she's about 10.5 - 11 pounds now. She's now filling into her 0-3 clothes. She sleeps great during the night and has a wonderful personality during the day. She's finally starting to not be so freaked out in the car and is able to be put down to play for longer stretches at a time. She lights up if there are other children around. She loves music. If you sing to her, she'll sing back. She's talking alot, especially when she's nursing.

She had her first experience in a Bumbo seat today and did pretty well. She's still so tiny, she wobbles all around.

We've been extremely blessed with such beautifully spirited children & we are so thankful every day to have them in our life. I'm not quite sure what we did to deserve them.

In Tractor Heaven- picture overload

Two weekends ago, we went to a tractor fair (yes, in case you were wondering, they really have those here in NH). Nathaniel was in Heaven.

The nice firemen served us lunch & let us play with their toys

Just when you think we'd done it all, they had a bounce house too!

Sling

We were heading out for a walk today and Nathaniel wanted to sling his baby too.
We then had to be quiet the entire walk, because his baby was sleeping.

This was the final product:

some videos

I finally downloaded all the videos off the camera from the past 2 months. This one is from 7-5-08. Nathaniel has been so in love with Audrey since the day we brought her home. He asks every day if she's big yet, so they can play together. He gets so excited when she watches him and now that she's making noises, he's estatic that she talks to him. It means the world to him that he can make her smile. He loves laying next to her and having them touch hands or feet or whatever it may be.

She's always had some crazy head & neck strength.

These pictures were taken when she was only 18 hours old:

I was trying to figure out if when our camera said 561 mintues, if it meant it had 561 minutes left or that I'd recorded 561 minutes. I had Nathaniel sing for me so I could watch the timer to see which it meant. Sometimes he gets all the letters, sometimes he recreats it.

fwiw - it meant i had 561, now 560, minutes left.

We went to see the band 8-9-08

There so much I could say right now about how much fun we're having this summer. It's now 11:45 and I have to get up to start tomorrow in 5 hours. Sleep is winning The argument between sleeping and writing an intelligent post. SO I figure The best way to update is to tell the story with pictures. Here's the story of last Saturday night. I brought Nathaniel & Audrey out to see the band play. We had a great time. Nathaniel got to play drums for a while, he sang with Dan "I Can Fly" and he danced with the crazy locals.

Helping Daddy set up

Marla & Audrey became best of friends

"I Can Fly"

Crazy Dancers, they kept him busy

Certain points in the night, Nathaniel felt more comfortable becoming a statue on the stage

There are those crazy dancer people again

I had to tackle Marla at the end of the night to get her to give the baby back.

You can tell the music really bothered Audrey

we've been a little busy

Late June & July were extremely busy months for us.. I've been quite distracted but now am up & running online again and will soon work on getting the site up to speed as well.

While you wait for that, you can watch this July 2006 video of the band.
It's not a full song, I ran out of memory, but You get the point.

(by the way, it's not nice to make fun of the white people dancing)

FWIW I've since upgraded my memory card to ensure this won't happen again.
