we have to find some cracker jacks

Manchester has a minor league baseball team called the Fisher Cats. Have you ever seen a fisher cat?

At first glance they'd appear to be cute & cuddily

Get a little closer and THIS might be the last thing you ever see.

They're fierce animals that like to dine on the domestic house cat.

These two cats, to be exact.

Anyways, We went to a Fisher Cat game Thursday night with some people from my work.

Nathaniel's done a fabulous job of learning 'Take Me out to the ballgame'. When I told him we were going to a baseball game, his literal mind really kicked into high gear. He said "mom, we have to find some Cracker Jacks" (buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks). He's also a little confused at the meaning of some of the words ~ during the game he kept asking where Root was. (root root root for the hooome team...) He originally thought we were going to go play baseball, so he quickly got his glove & a ball. I then spent the next 15 minutes trying to explain what I meant by telling him "we're going to Sit in the Stands".

According to the tickets, the game starts at 7:05. Unfortunately, we weren't able to leave our house until 6:45. Parking is tricky and traffic was rough. We parked at the top of this map and our seats were at the end of the red line, on the bottom.

Miraculously, We got our seats just as they started the National Anthem. They must've been running late.

I don't care how much food prep you do before you go to an event. We all ate dinner first. But somehow, when you're at a public venue like a game, everyone around you is eating, you can't help but want to load up on as much bad for your health food as you can. Unfortunately, we didn't think far enough ahead to bring cash.

Dan sets off to find an ATM. I'll remind you that our seats were in section 115. The ATM was over by Section 101. The game was sold out and everyone else decided to eat too.

It took Dan 2 innings to make it back to our seats. At that point, Nathaniel got out of his seat, took my hand and same "Mom, I'm all done with this game, I want to go home". It was now the beginning of the 4th inning.

Let me clarify that we had NO expectation of making it through the entire game. We went just for the sake of going and to break up the week a little.

So there we went, we packed up & made the treck back to our car.

During the time we were there, we had a great time. Nathaniel saw so many new things and asked so many questions. Audrey enjoyed her time in the sling. Our bellies got some great game food and our legs were exercised. It was a Fun family night.

Nathaniel's favorite part was that the field is in line for the airport. Every 5 minutes, there was some type of aircraft flying directly over our heads.

i was caught off guard.

I was going through my pictures for the post prior to this one and came across this accidental picture. I fell in love with it instantly. I can tell the picture wasn't really meant to be, it was clearly taken by accident. I haven't cropped it or played with it at all except for black & white.

It's his innocence here that catches my breath. He's clearly just a little boy, caught up in his own thoughts and, for a brief moment, in his own world. Sometimes we think he's so big, sometimes we probably expect too much of him.

This picture reminds me of the fact that he's just a little boy, just barely 3 years old. So much life ahead of him. So much to still learn & figure out.

More than anything, this picture makes me nervous. We have so much responsiblity for his life. I don't mean in the part of being sure that he gets feed from every food group daily or that he's well dressed with a clean haircut. I mean our responsiblity as parents to lead him to become the man that every parent wants their son to be. I don't care, and I know Dan agrees, if he becomes a janitor or a president of a successful business. It's who he is on the inside that matters. It's that measure of life that I want to be able to look back at 35 years from now and know that we did a good job.

I Want to Soak up the Sun

Last weekend, the band was part of a country music festival put on by the NH country music station WOKQ and Prescott Park Arts Festival. During the day I couldn't help but sing the choruses of Sheryl Crows 'I want to soak up the sun' and Jodie Mesina's 'Bring on the Rain' to myself.

The day started off beautifully. Shortly after Branded (dan's band) was done, the dark black cloudes started rolling in fast. By the time the 4th band was setting up, the thunder started freaking me out enough to pack it up. I started regretting bringing as much gear as I did as it was about 1/2 mile back to the car with 2 kids [and a husband that had disappeared due to band obligations] in a potential downpour.

Fortunately, no Morgans were soaked during the course of the day, we all made it to the car saftely & mostly dry before the skies really opened up.

I had packed my camera up at the first sign of darkness [should've bought that damage protection waiver after all] but I was able to get these pics early on

and this is how we roll...

Look out world, Audrey is now rolling over.

Happy 3 month birthday baby girl.

It's hard to imagine a day in our life with out her in it. It seems foreign to think it was ever just me & Dan or just me, Dan and Nathaniel.

I'd predict she's about 10.5 - 11 pounds now. She's now filling into her 0-3 clothes. She sleeps great during the night and has a wonderful personality during the day. She's finally starting to not be so freaked out in the car and is able to be put down to play for longer stretches at a time. She lights up if there are other children around. She loves music. If you sing to her, she'll sing back. She's talking alot, especially when she's nursing.

She had her first experience in a Bumbo seat today and did pretty well. She's still so tiny, she wobbles all around.

We've been extremely blessed with such beautifully spirited children & we are so thankful every day to have them in our life. I'm not quite sure what we did to deserve them.

In Tractor Heaven- picture overload

Two weekends ago, we went to a tractor fair (yes, in case you were wondering, they really have those here in NH). Nathaniel was in Heaven.

The nice firemen served us lunch & let us play with their toys

Sling

We were heading out for a walk today and Nathaniel wanted to sling his baby too.
We then had to be quiet the entire walk, because his baby was sleeping.

This was the final product:

some videos

I finally downloaded all the videos off the camera from the past 2 months. This one is from 7-5-08. Nathaniel has been so in love with Audrey since the day we brought her home. He asks every day if she's big yet, so they can play together. He gets so excited when she watches him and now that she's making noises, he's estatic that she talks to him. It means the world to him that he can make her smile. He loves laying next to her and having them touch hands or feet or whatever it may be.

She's always had some crazy head & neck strength.

These pictures were taken when she was only 18 hours old:

I was trying to figure out if when our camera said 561 mintues, if it meant it had 561 minutes left or that I'd recorded 561 minutes. I had Nathaniel sing for me so I could watch the timer to see which it meant. Sometimes he gets all the letters, sometimes he recreats it.

fwiw - it meant i had 561, now 560, minutes left.
