I'd like a side of Crazy!!

2:30 am.  Everyone sleeping.   Then BOOM!!!

First we saw it was just a tree that fell (on a non-stormy night) but we quickly realized a car in the side of our house that caused a tree to fall.

We're all fine.  House is fine.  Our cars are fine.  Fallen Trees have since been removed.   Driver fled the scene but later came back and had a lovely ride in the wagon.

After some internet investigating, turns out he has a habit of extreme dui crashes and robberies.  Jail and rehab haven't seemed to help.    Also found out that his girlfriends brother died suddenly this week which may have been the reason of late night activities.

Regardless, very thankful for the protection of the rock and tree he hit first that slowed him down before the freak of nature crash into our house.

Violin

Nate has decided to try the strings club at school.  Lessons start in October but we picked up the instrument last week.

Building character

Very proud of these filthy kids.

I gave them the challenge today to go outside their comfort zone.  I asked them to introduce themselves and play with another camper that was alone or sad.

He met three new kids and she did one.

We're back!

We're back at camp!  Clean up for us was as easy as unloading the car.  Kids were out of site the minute we pulled in,  checking in with their old friends.

We were given a deck, which was a wonderful treat.  We're the third owners, as it was originally salvaged from the 2011 flood
See the kayaker?

Anyways, all hands on deck - literally - as all the cool men got together for deck replanting. Amazingness.

Even some underground assistance

Lunch was served for all

After lunch, I washed the camper, Dan installed the bike rack and we went for a walk to check out the river.  Dan was off helping other decks be moved around and spread stone.  Work was tiresome but fun with great people.

Love our new maxxair skylight covers, that again we gifted to us by another seasonal family that no longer needed them.

Audrey took a frisbie to the nose and later needed some heavyduty-lay on her to keep her down- splinter removal but otherwise injury free weekend.

Before we head home, Dan is troubleshooting & resealing the front problem window so hopefully we can eliminate future leaks.

Successful weekend.  Back in two weeks.
